Education, indeed is the light of life. Life without education is dark and shapeless. Bhaktapur has been lagging behind in many different aspects of modern advancement. We believe education, is the only, instrument to reach through the darkness of ignorance and, to light the lives of people. With this view in mind, this Springdale E.S.B. School was founded in Bhaktapur in 2044 BS(1988 AD). The main motto of this school is to impart efficient and competent education to the pupils of Bhaktapur. The education imparted here has proved clumsy and unproductive, as it did not help in creating the needed skills and confidence on the pupils of Bhaktapur to cope with the modern world.

Quality in education is the need of today. It was already lacking when the school was founded. Times are changing and we are being left far behind the modern world. The pupils of Bhaktapur are deprived of quality education needed for this present competitive world.

Springdale school emerged to access the needs of those living in Bhaktapur, depending on the constraint of resources. The most important consideration was to compromise and consider the economic level of the people. This school has put its all efforts in balancing both economic situation and quality education. Somehow, despite the high rent of our school building and the cost of needed expenses this school is running in its own way. Evidently this school cannot claim to be the best school, but it is on the way to prove itself as one of the best schools of Bhaktapur. The motto of this school is quality education to cope with the modern world.

By considering all of the above, this school has been providing all the vital and possible services to the pupil like tiffin, stationery, medical insurance, dance and sports along with extra curricular activities in the school with a due cost. At present, considering the desire of parents and time we have made some changes in the system. These changes include focusing more on quality education rather than the other services which the school provides. Besides all of these the school admits and realizes the duties and responsibilities to be performed by this institution. This school is set with sincere commitment of quality education with low cost. However the school does not take the sole responsibility of children development, rather we consider this as a shared responsibility of the parents, teachers and school. Thus we take the sole responsibility, to conduct the school smoothly for proper development of pupils.

Proposed Project Background

Bhaktapur as cited earlier is way behind in development basically due to low literacy rate. Being, a district where most of its inhabitants are farmers or handicraft manufacturers most of the children even today drop out of school after completing 5th grade. Less than 20% of all the students who complete 5th grade have completed their 10th year of education. The educational development of Kathmandu and Lalitpur the twin metropolis districts within one ring road have taken a frog leap to promote education in the private sector.
